FIRED SA Social Security Agency chief executive Fezile Makiwane wants five years' salary as compensation for an alleged political conspiracy against him.

A confidential document in possession of Sowetan advises Makiwane to emulate axed SABC boss Dali Mpofu, who was paid R13,7million in an out-of-court settlement.

The Independent Professional Trade Union of South Africa (IPTUSA) says his case is "laden with politico-labour overtones", and advises Makiwane to cut a deal with his former boss, Social Development Minister Edna Molewa.

In December 2008, Makiwane allegedly authorised Sassa to donate R2,5million to tycoon Mabheleni Ntuli, who spent the money on a children's party at President Jacob Zuma's home in Nkandla.

IPTUSA suggests Makiwane should use the connection between the party and Zuma to get government to settle.
