SOUTH Africa will silence the doubters by delivering on its promise of hosting one of the greatest World Cups in history, Guatemala coach Francisco Melgar feels.

Speaking after their 5-0 drubbing by Bafana Bafana on Monday, Melgar commended South Africa on its preparations. He said he was impressed by the facilities that have been developed for the World Cup, which kicks off on June 11.

"South Africa has built some of the best stadiums in the world, I have no doubt that it will be one of the greatest World Cup finals.

"Everything is so wonderful here in South Africa, the hospitality afforded to us since our arrival last week has been exceptionally good.

"People of the world coming here will enjoy themselves, the people are very nice and make you feel home away from home. I strongly believe Bafana Bafana have a good team and will do well during the tournament. They have highly experienced players (who will) make the country proud."

Melgar confessed that he was also in love with the vuvuzela, which has been endorsed by Fifa president Sepp Blatter.

Some players from Europe and Asia are against the blowing of the vuvuzela at the matches, saying it makes it impossible for them to communicate.

"The vuvuzela is part of SA football, there is no way it must be banned because the people use it to cheer on the players," Melgar said. "I don't have a problem with the noise created by the vuvuzela, in fact it makes the atmosphere inside the stadium great. I love it."
