Raise funds for Jub Jub victim

I READ with pity and pain the story of Frank Mlambo, a victim of Jub Jub's alleged car racing accident on May 28 inSowetan.

I READ with pity and pain the story of Frank Mlambo, a victim of Jub Jub's alleged car racing accident on May 28 inSowetan.

It is clear that the family is suffering now that young Mlambo is brain-damaged and requires constant care. He needs disposable nappies, probably a full-time nanny, specialists, physiotherapy and so on.

Even if Jub Jub and his co-accused are sentenced to a jail term it will still not assist the family in any manner.

I suggest that Jub Jub and his record company perhaps arrange a concert at which he will perform and all the proceeds of the concert be channelled to the Mlambo family to pay for the boy's medical bills.

Whatever the court decides at the end of the trial is of no significance to the family. This will not assist them because the Road Accident Fund can take up to four years to pay out, if you are lucky.

I also urge members of the music community to which Jub Jub belongs not to turn their backs on the family, but to be proactive and participate in the above suggested concert.
