TWO people were critically injured and 50 others hurt when a tent collapsed at an event to highlight child trafficking during the World Cup.

TWO people were critically injured and 50 others hurt when a tent collapsed at an event to highlight child trafficking during the World Cup.

Thousands of people had gathered at Ingogo area at the weekend to attend the launch of the child trafficking awareness campaign by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Welfare and Development Meshack Radebe.

Department spokesperson Sifiso Buthelezi said most elderly could not escape from the falling tent. He said they then took a decision to cancel the event .
