The storyteller is self-effacing and somewhat publicity shy . This week her humility shone as a privileged moment dawned for the founder and leader of the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund-sponsored Kwesukela Storytelling Academy Kwesukela 2010 Storytelling Festival. It will be held in Johannesburg, Polokwane, Durban and Pretoria from June 11 to July 11.
Mdlalose will share the limelight with fellow artists including poets, novelists, actors and short-story writers Gcina Mhlophe, Masoja Msiza and many others. They will perform 30 new African and South African stories under the theme When People Forget, Story Remembers.
Children's festivals, coorganised by The Art Bouquet, will be hosted on Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown, Johannesburg and Ubuntu Kraal, Orlando West, Soweto.
