GAUTENG Premier Nomvula Mokonyane says she is ready for the performance appraisal of her and her cabinet by the newly elected ANC provincial leadership.
The provincial executive committee (PEC) under the leadership of former premier Paul Mashatile had announced earlier this week that it planned to review the performance of Mokonyane's administration.
"What is exciting is the fact that the review has been re-emphasised. It has always been a practice of the ANC, but we are looking forward to it," she said.
"The most important thing is that we can account for everything we have done. Our plans and everything were informed and endorsed by the ANC."
"Our challenges are known by the ANC. We're looking forward to the PEC rallying round us and supporting us in challenges we face," she said.
Secretary David Makhura said the PEC had identified "systemic weaknesses in governance".
This was the first indication of a possible cabinet reshuffle.
Speaking at the official release of a survey on the quality of life in Gauteng, Mokonyane said she was not surprised that most people were satisfied with their lives in the province.
"We will continue to implement measures that will create more work and ensure an equitable distribution of our province's wealth so that we van address their challenges," Makonyane said.
Two weeks ago the province adopted the employment, growth and development strategy to create decent work and build the economy.
Mokonyane said: "We remain a leading province with 71 percent of our municipalities having achieved unqualified audits."
