WHAT does rugby and the "Mother of the Nation" have to do with each other? Apparently a lot in these changing times.

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will add glamour and a political touch to sport TV as she has been invited as a guest on a rugby channel today.

Boots and All, SuperSport's flagship rugby show, will broadcast live from Soweto - with Madikizela-Mandela as one of the special guests.

Recognising the historical nature of Saturday's Super 14 final between the Blue Bulls and the Stormers, SuperSport has assembled a diverse line-up of guests, among them referee Craig Joubert, politician Matthews Phosa and SA Rugby president Oregan Hoskins.

Fittingly, the broadcast will take place at the iconic Sakhumzi restaurant, situated on Vilakazi Street, former home of Nelson Mandela.

The match itself will enjoy an extended two-hour build-up on Saturday, with crossings from supporters at Newlands and elsewhere.

DStv subscribers will enjoy the four-hour broadcast from 3pm to 7pm .
