The new owners of the Dube Birds, whose names are known to Sowetan, met Bock and his representatives at his offices in London five weeks ago.
"We went back to London for a follow-up meeting where the deal was signed and sealed. We were successful because we decided to do our business quietly," said one of the new owners. "It is unfortunate that Bock died before an announcement could be made.
"Leon Prins will remain CEO because we want to make sure there is stability in the administration."
Swallows director Sipho Xulu confirmed that Bock had died. Bock was the majority shareholder, with 90percent. Prins, who was reportedly on his way to Germany for Bock's funeral, could not be reached for comment.
