JRA applauded for repairing potholes in Joburg

A FEW days ago while en route to my Joburg office at about 9am I came across a scene that pleased me.

It reminded me of an experience I once had while travelling to Springbok in Northern Cape. It was about 3am and I was about 80km from my destination, when I realised that I was running very low on fuel.

It was with a sigh of relief and a feeling of jubilation that I saw the lights of Springbok and the sign of a filling station.

It was exactly the same mixed feeling that I experienced on that journey, that I had when I saw a team of workers from the JRA busy repairing a pothole on a busy intersection in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Given the state of our roads, it was indeed exciting to see this.
