MAINTENANCE Court officer Ronan Lunge has advised that men being summoned to appear in the court should avail themselves to give their side.

Lunge said the men should take their salary advices and all other documents that will serve as proof that they cannot afford to pay the required amount.

In the case of a man who has allegedly kidnapped his son, Lunge said if the man failed to appear in court he would be obliged to pay R1500 in maintenance.

She said men can also make child maintenance claims.
