BLACK Leopards have placed prized players Peter Mponda and Robert Ng'ambi on transfer.

If they do not find suitable replacements their chances of winning promotion to the Premiership next season could be compromised.

The two Malawian internationals, who have been with Leopards for a long time, have been pillars of strength for the Venda club.

They also played a pivotal role in Leopards reaching the National First Division playoffs.

Leopards' general manager Sam Khaphathe confirmed yesterday that they have put Mponda and Ng'ambi on the list.

Walter Ramulondi is another important player who will not be with Lidoda Duvha next season after he handed the club a transfer request.

"These players helped the team to reach the national playoffs and we will miss them," Khaphathe said.

"They want to play top-flight football and we will not stand in their way. They have been good to us and we don't want to frustrate them.

"I'm positive that we will get equally good players to help us gain promotion at the end of the next season."

Regarding Lethola Mofokeng, who is said to have signed a pre-season contract with Mpumalanga Black Aces, Khaphathe said: "As far as we are concerned Lethola is still contracted to us."

Leopards' contract with Fisher Kondowe, another Malawian international, expires at the end of next month.
