This was the view of Boks Sevens manager Sebastian Prim yesterday from London, where they are preparing for the season's finale in Scotland this weekend.
He said the boys were disappointed about failing to win the trophy after their magnificent performance in the early stages of the tournament.
The Boks beat France 19-12, Canada 43-0 and drew 21-all with Fiji in the pool stages.
They went on to beat England 17-12 and Samoa 24-12 in the knockout stages.
"We will not rest. We will be working hard on our strength to prepare for the tournament in Scotland this weekend. My boys have gained some positive tricks last weekend and hope to apply them effectively on Saturday,'' Prim said.
He revealed that coach Paul Treu was also disappointed with the result but that he had praised his charges for their fighting spirit throughout the tournament.
It was a much better performance for the Boks, who failed to reach the semifinals stage of the same competition last season after some of their key players were injured.
Back in the team after two years out of the Sevens, the recalled Fabian Juries put in a dazzling showing against Australia.
The wing capped his performance with two great tries in the final against the youthful but determined Australian side.
