South Africa's Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe has given a thumbs up to the new Peter Mokaba sports complex in Polokwane.
He said it was 100 percent ready to host the World Cup games scheduled to begin in three weeks' time.
Motlanthe visited the stadium as part of the government's tour to monitor progress made among the legacy projects initiated as part of the 2010 World Cup vision.
He started his visit by meeting local government leaders, led by Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale and members of the executive committee.
Motlanthe's entourage was made up of ministers, Health Aaron Motsoaledi, Sports Makhenkhesi Stofile, Trade and Industry Rob Davies, and deputy minister of Basic Education Enver Surty.
"I am highly impressed with the Peter Mokaba Stadium and other legacy projects. The city of Polokwane is ready," said Motlanthe who also visited road and water infrastructure projects in the city.
Though the primary goal of having the stadium completed for the World Cup games was achieved, Motlanthe and Stofile were concerned about the stadium's sustainability beyond the tournament.
After July, the city will be faced with high maintenance costs and unable to generate an income as there's still no confirmation it would be used by other codes.
