HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT!

YOU can't have your cake and eat it too.

YOU can't have your cake and eat it too.

This has been a popular phrase throughout the generations. But, more than this being just a phrase, it is actually a popular English idiomatic proverb, or figure of speech.

It is often used negatively, or inappropriately, meaning that one cannot own something and attempt to benefit from it too, or could be similar to phrases such as: "You can't have it both ways", or; "you can't have the best of both worlds."

At this point, let us ponder this. Why is that such a bad thing? Why cannot one not have something good and positive about oneself, and then be unable to use that to their benefit?

What then is the purpose of having great potential within oneself, but then you cannot put it to use? Why would you have a cake on the table, and still not be able to eat it?

If potential is bubbling strongly within you, you need to exploit it. It could be passion, ambition, a yearning or an eagerness to attain something great.

You have the ability within you to be a success. You have within you the ability to be an entrepreneur, a professional career person, or a millionaire. whatever it is; that great potential to be anything great, lives within you.

It is up to you. Exploit the gift within you and then benefit from it. We live in a world where so many people are eating other people's cakes because they cannot eat their own.

That is, living in the shadows of other achievers. They fail to realise their own potential. They do not know how to exploit it.

This is why there are so many people in unfulfilled careers. All because they had it within them to become what they really love and are truly capable of, but they couldn't use it to their benefit.

Motivational speaker and author Myles Munroe has said that one of the places on earth that has so much potential, and yet is brimming with potential that has gone to waste, is the graveyard.

Truly, graveyards are very rich with wasted potential, of people who have died before or without having realised their true potential.
