ZULU monarch King Goodwill Zwelithini has urged AmaZulu supporters to go all out to back the team at the Nedbank Cup final against Bidvest Wits at Soccer City on Saturday.

"It is important that we as the people of KwaZulu-Natal go all out to support AmaZulu in their quest to win this tournament," Zwelithini said.

"For them to have reached the final is an achievement we are proud of, but now we all have to be behind them on Saturday so that they can do us proud and lift the trophy.

"AmaZulu are a very big team with great history, we need to root for them whenever they play. It should not only be in Cup matches, but in all the matches they play. I wish them all the best on Saturday."

Striker Dumisani Ngwenya said they were humbled to have received the message of support from His Majesty.

"It gives us courage as players to know that the King is fully behind us. We will go on to the pitch on Saturday knowing that we are not playing only for the club and the management and immediate supporters, but for the whole province of KwaZulu-Natal.

"We will pull out all the stops to win this Cup to make our supporters and the people of KwaZulu-Natal happy. It has been a very long time since we won a trophy," Ngwenya said.

Usuthu last lifted a trophy in 1992 when they stunned Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the Coca-Cola Cup final, spurred on by the likes of Simon Magagula, the late Julius Chirwa and Shadrack Biemba.
