Portugal warm up Boks

THE Springboks Sevens rugby team will take on Portugal in an international friendly in London today.

THE Springboks Sevens rugby team will take on Portugal in an international friendly in London today.

This will be the Boks Sevens' last warm-up game before the IRB World Sevens Series resumes in London this weekend.

Speaking to Sowetan yesterday from London, Boks Sevens manager Sebastian Prins said today's friendly will afford them an opportunity to fine-tune their performance.

Prins said the boys looked committed and sharp during the first training session in London yesterday and coach Paul Treu was pleased with their progress.

"Today's game will give the technical staff the last opportunity to finalise good combinations ahead of the two-day tournament," Prins said.

The final squad will be announced tomorrow.

The Springboks face France in the opening pool game on Saturday.
