JOMO Sono gave Sowetan the strongest hint yet that he might go back on his promise to quit coaching.

JOMO Sono gave Sowetan the strongest hint yet that he might go back on his promise to quit coaching.

Sono has targeted a quick return to the Premiership and says he will amass enough points by December to seal his return to the league. But it remains to be seen if he will quit coaching.

"I will cross that bridge when I get to it. Right now I'm not there yet," Sono said when asked if he will stay on as Ezenkosi coach should they make a quick return to the league.

His hopes will be boosted by midfielder Bongani Theletsane's commitment to the club. Theletsane has been strongly linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns, but the adroit midfielder said if the move does not materialise, he will remain a loyal servant of the club.

"I love the team and it would not be a problem for me if they (Sundowns) don't come up with an offer. I'm only 20 years old and still young so I'll have more opportunities in the future," Theletsane said. He said his game would improve under Sono.

"I think if no offers come forth, I'll be a much better player in two years than I am now. I would like to help the team return to the PSL and I would only consider leaving if Bra J gives me his blessing," he said.

Sono also said they will change their home base: "We'll be moving out of Rand Stadium. We had a good relationship with the management in the beginning, but in the end it turned a bit sour. Besides, paying R40000 to use the stadium will be a bit expensive."

Cosmos are likely to host their matches at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa or Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton next season.
