Indawo set to pull the crowds to St Stithians

APART from hosting the Australian football team training sessions on their grounds, St Stithians College unveiled Indawo, their Fifa-licenced hospitality village, where fans will be given the opportunity to watch the games in a festive atmosphere.

Local musicians such as Freshlyground, Jozi, Lira, Jamali, Flash Republic, HHP, DJ Fresh, Goldfish, Mafikizolo, Watershed, Cassette and Taxi Violence will entertain the football fans on select dates at the venue to compliment the on-field action.

Lira said: "This is the first fan-park I have seen. What is also great is that it is close to where I live. I must say fan parks have a bigger appeal for me since I think it will be less chaotic than going to a stadium.

"I also like the fact that there is going to be VIP treatment."

Tickets to view games and entertainment are between R495 and R2995. The basic "supporters" package for R495 includes access to the entertainment village; viewing two matches and a concert per day; wine and malt plus food stalls and parking.

Pupils from St Stithians and the public will be given the opportunity to watch the Australian players prepare for their first match against their Group D opponents, Germany. The game will be played at Durban's Joseph Mabhida Stadium on June 13.
