THE Gauteng provincial government's 2010 World Cup awareness campaign gets into full swing today with the leadership galvanising support in Tshwane.

The campaign, also supported by parastatal Transnet, began last week in Sebokeng.

Premier Nomvula Mokonyane launched it.

Nelisiwe Moerane, the MEC for sports, arts, culture and recreation, said they were using the event to urge people in Gauteng to support Bafana Bafana and the World Cup in general.

Moerane said: "We've been able to bring excitement to people, many of whom won't have a chance to go to a stadium and feel the real vibe."

Today the campaign will be at Absa Centre in Olivenhoutbosch between noon and 1pm and will proceed to Laudium shopping centre from 2pm to 4pm.
