SOME members of the media are wringing their hands in anguish over tonight's clash between Macbute "Macman" Sinyabi and Themba Lesiba at Nasrec Arena in Johannesburg but I am rubbing my hands in gleeful anticipation.

SOME members of the media are wringing their hands in anguish over tonight's clash between Macbute "Macman" Sinyabi and Themba Lesiba at Nasrec Arena in Johannesburg but I am rubbing my hands in gleeful anticipation.

Sinyabi, the national junior featherweight champion from Mdantsane, will bid for a fourth defence against the No1 contender from Orange Farm.

The dissenters argue that this fight, the main bout of promoter Allan Young's bill, is a mismatch and that Sinyabi is taking the "easy" way out by picking an "inexperienced" foe. They have the "inexperience" tag right, but I'm not sure how "easy" it is going to be for the champion, who is trained by Nick Durandt.

The fight will be presented by Young, under Knockout Promotions, and will be televised live on Blow by Blow at 10pm. Sinyabi boasts 13 stoppages against one defeat.

On March 2 2008 trainers Vuyani and Dudu Bungu and Mveleli Luzipho guided him to a stunning first-round knockout of Tshepo Mofokeng for the then-vacant national belt.

He later teamed up with Durandt, who has guided him to three defences.

Lesiba, who is trained by his father Leonard , is no pushover. His knockout ratio of three from nine fights is misleading.

He tore Moses Mahase to shreds in under three minutes for the Gauteng provincial title in May last year.
