MY BEST friend and I have been close since primary school. We remained close after we got married.

Her husband died two years ago. At the end of last year she met a man and has fallen in love with him.

We still spoke often on the phone, but started seeing less and less of each other. A few months ago she stopped taking my calls. I could not get through to her and she said she was very busy.

We've never been too busy to speak to each other in all these years.

Her boyfriend is a very jealous man and he does not like me, so he has obviously turned her against me .

I have many friends, but she was my best friend.

This is a difficult situation and I can understand how hurt you must be. Unfortunately, the person controlling this is your friend's boyfriend.

There isn't anything you can do about it and you are going to have to step back. Y ou could possibly try and phone her once a month, just to let her know you still care about her and will always be her friend.

Hopefully, in the future, she will realise how important family and friends are and that you cannot build your life around one person.
