THE agricultural body, TAU SA says it will work closely with the Grain Forum and Grain SA on issues affectinggrain farmers.

TAU SA chief executive officer Bennie van Zyl said yesterday both Grain SA and TAU SA wanted to ensure that agriculture in South Africa remained productive. They had therefore decided to work together and to ensure food security.

Van Zyl said as a result of a degree of alienation over time, members of TAU SA felt there was need to address grain issues and this was done through a grain forum.

"In terms of the renewed cooperation between these organisations, the grain forum would discuss these matters directly with Grain SA who would then take it further."

Van Zyl expressed his satisfaction about the new agreement as well as a financial contribution made by the two bodies.
