The couple's daughter is a pupil at the St Mary's Diocesan School for girls in Pretoria.
At the centre of the row are people mentioned in a list allegedly drawn up by the MEC, who are allowed to visit her daughter, Precious Segabutla, in Pretoria.
Sowetan has a copy of the list with the name and contact numbers of the MEC's husband, Phillip, cancelled.
Parents of pupils at the school are required to submit a list of people who are eligible to pay their children visits.
The document submitted by Segabutla lists most of the people as uncles and aunts, including a person who had benefitted from tenders from Segabutla's department.
Johnny Lucas is the director of Tshepo Consulting, which conducts investigations for the provincial health information system.
Lucas' company was allegedly paid more than R2million for a tender that was not advertised.
Other people on the document are mining magnate Mantombi Maphanzela, who is listed as an aunt, and Tommy Kgomo, referred to as an uncle.
Kgomo was a senior manager in Segabutla's office but was redeployed to another unit after an alleged fallout with the MEC.
A Sowetan investigation has shown that of the 14 people listed as relatives only two are blood relatives.
Approached for comment yesterday Segabutla said she had nothing to say about the matter since it was personal.
Her lawyer, Gert van der Merwe, said he had not seen the document.
