ANGLO American Plc has sold its zinc assets for $1,34billion (about R9billion) to India-focused mining group Vedanta Resources, it said yesterday.

ANGLO American Plc has sold its zinc assets for $1,34billion (about R9billion) to India-focused mining group Vedanta Resources, it said yesterday.

Vedanta aims to expand its presence in Europe and Africa. It will become the world's largest zinc producer after buying the assets, including the Skorpion mine in Namibia, Lisheen in Ireland and Black Mountain in South Africa. - Reuters
