The prosecutors in the Lucky Dube murder trial and Tembisa gang rape trial will be handling the Brett Kebble murder case.

Senior state prosecutors advocates Kholeka Gcaleka and Lethabo Mashiane will replace seasoned prosecutor Gerrie Nel and his team in prosecuting drug trafficker and alleged killer of Kebble, Glenn Agliotti, in July.

The new team will be headed by deputy director of public prosecutions in the Eastern Cape region Dan Dikana.

Gcaleka was behind the conviction of eight men who gang-raped a Tembisa woman in 2005.

Mashiane was lead prosecutor in the trial against three men who gunned down reggae icon Dube in 2007.

The national prosecuting authority announced its decision to remove Nel from the Kebble trial a day after former NPA official Prince Mokotedi, while testifying in the Jackie Selebi trial last week, accused Nel of being investigated for withdrawing money from a secret Scorpions account.
