STRIKER Siyabonga Nomvethe reckons Bafana Bafana's appetite for goals augurs well for their ambitions for the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

"Many have worried about our failure to score but training camps in Brazil and Germany have helped to address the issue," Nomvethe said yesterday.

Nomvethe marked his return to Bafana Bafana after a three-year absence with a goal in their 2-0 win over Jamaica in Germany two weeks ago.

"It feels good to be back. I must confess that I was surprised when I received the call-up letter to rejoin Bafana Bafana," Nomvethe said.

"It won't be easy in the World Cup but for now as players we are working hard so that we can be in the final squad.

"I strongly believe we have a great team to make South Africa proud during the World Cup. We need to fight as a team."

Nomvethe is one of a few South African players who have scored at the World Cup. He gave South Africa its first ever World Cup win following a 1-0 over Slovenia in 2002.
