OLIMPA Motsoenyane claims she is going blind in her left eye and has problems with her womb after she was allegedly assaulted by police officers.

Motsoenyane, of Kanana township outside Klerksdorp in North West, is one of the alleged victims of the Klerksdorp organised crime team.

On Friday the officers, Captain Tsietsi Mano, Captain Ishmael Taung, Warrant-Officer Petros Tshiponyane, Sergeant Samuel Kutumela, Constable Godfrey Pebane and Constable Lucas Mosala were arrested by the independent complaints directorate (ICD).

They appeared in in the Klerksdorp magistrate's court on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They were released on R500 bail each.

Mano is the investigating officer in the case against 28-year-old Chris Mahlangu and a 15-year-old boy accused of killing AWB leader Eugène Terre'Blanche.

Another victim, Petros Setlaba of Fochville, said: "I was sleeping when I heard people knocking on my doors and windows.

"When I looked through the window I realised that it was cops. When I opened the door they told me that I was under arrest for breaking into a bank," Setlaba said.
