THE eThekwini metro female officers have called on the municipality bosses to protect them from an abusive senior officer in Boscombe police station.

It is alleged that the police inspector had been moved from different divisions when other officers complained about his alleged ill-treatment of women officers.

They claim that he treats them like "dogs" and refuses them lunch breaks. It is known in the station but no one seems interested in assisting the officers.

Metro police spokesperson Joyce Khuzwayo expressed shock, saying they have not received a formal complaint.

"Our members know the procedure and they can bring their grievances to the management as a collective or individually.

"They also have union officials who can also take their matter up."
