"I was on the phone with the coach (Bert van Marwijk) on Monday. He didn't say that I wouldn't be at the World Cup," the Hamburger Morgenpost daily quoted Van Nistelrooy as saying.
Van Marwijk's squad for a first training camp next week did not include Van Nistelrooy.
The coach said that a final decision on whether the injury-plagued former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker is fit enough to play would not be made until next week. - Sapa-DPA
