THE 16 African match officials appointed to officiate at the 2010 Fifa World Cup will converge on Cape Town this weekend for their final fitness test.

South Africa will be represented by Cape Town referee Jerome Damon and assistant referee Enoch Molefe from Bloemfontein.

Four referees and 12 assistant referees will take the test. After this workshop, Fifa will decide on all the match officials and the reserves for the tournament.

Match officials will meet on Saturday. On Sunday they will have their last fitness test before the World Cup at Coetzenburg Stadium.

"It's good that everybody is coming to my area for a change. I have been travelling all over the world for fitness tests for the World Cup," Damon said.
