THE 2010 Fifa World Cup fever has pitched with such a crescendo as to reverberate even in houses of worship.

On Sunday the Grace Bible Church in Pimville, Soweto, launched its World Cup campaign themed The Ultimate Goal.

Pastors, deacons, elders and congregants came to the service dressed in Bafana Bafana jerseys and wearing the famous makaraba.

As senior Pastor Musa Sono preached his sermon, congregants accompanied every amen with a blow of the vuvuzela, in ululation of the soccer spectacle.

The church has a full programmes for the spectacle:

lPublic viewing of World Cup games;

lFree music concerts before every game showed at the public viewing;

lFree diski dance lessons every Wednesday; and

lSix-a-side soccer games at the church's premises and a holiday club.

Sono said during the tournament the church would serve as an awareness centre.
