MPUMALANGA Premier David Mabuza has called on the province's residents to get tested in order to know their HIV status.

Mabuza has shown his commitment to the fight against the pandemic by getting tested during the launch of the HIV counselling and testing campaign at the Winniefred Maboea community health centre in the Lekwa local municipality over the weekend.

"We are calling for collective responsibility to stop new HIV infections and to ensure access to treatment for all people," he said.

Mabuza also called on leaders to get tested to encourage ordinary people to do so.

He said the province was planning to test 1, 3million people by the middle of next year.
