SOUTH African opera singer Pretty Yende will share the stage with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Canadian rocker Bryan Adams to mark the end of the 2010 World Cup.

SOUTH African opera singer Pretty Yende will share the stage with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Canadian rocker Bryan Adams to mark the end of the 2010 World Cup.

Dubbed Celebrate Africa Grand Finale, the concert has been endorsed by Fifa and will take place on July 9 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg.

Concert organisers have confirmed that the event will happen in Johannesburg two days before the World Cup final.

Yende, 25, was born in Piet Retief in Mpumalanga. She studied music at the University of Cape Town.

Adams is the best-selling Canadian male artist.

He has sold 75million albums and 30million singles worldwide.

Last year Yende scooped two accolades at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna, Austria.

Bocelli and special guests will be supported by Italian flautist Andrea Griminelli, the Gauteng Choristers and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, which will be conducted by Marcello Rota.

Tickets range from R800 to R3500.

Fifa had previously announced that Alicia Keys and Shakira would be part of a June 10 concert in Soweto.
