Bank warns Internet customers

Hackers and conmen are targeting Standard Bank Internet banking customers with emails asking for updates on personal information.

The emails appear harmless and official at first glance, and you could not be blamed for clicking on the link provided to update your details, especially when the email explains to you the urgency that you might be prevented from getting access to your account.

The same email asks you to enable JavaScript for your own security and the email further advises that there is a chance someone else is signing into your profile.

Scammers advise that all you need to do to save yourself from this fraudulent activity is to click on a link that takes you to an obscure website called or

Once you have completed this action they thank you for helping you to protect your account.

Standard Bank has asked customers to send dubious emails to so that they can be investigated.
