Amakhosi hog KO awards

KAIZER Chiefs walked away with two awards at the 2010 Telkom Knockout function in Johannesburg yesterday to reward brilliant performances in the competition by players.

Arthur Bartman won the award for goalkeeper of the tournament. Bartman's teammate Dominic Isaacs, one of the most successful graduates of the Transnet Football School of Excellence, grabbed the defender of the tournament award.

"It's a great honour to win this award and I want to thank my teammates, winning the tournament was a team effort," said Isaacs.

The two players each received R100000.

The midfielder of the tournament award went to SuperSport United-bound Dipsy Selolwane of Ajax Cape Town, who also received R100000.

The top goalscorer award was not given as no player scored the five goals necessary to qualify for the accolade.

The main award of the tournament, the TKO player of the tournament, is likely to be given to Chiefs' attacking midfielder Mandla Masango.

The winner will be named at the overall PSL awards ceremony on May 22. The other nominees for this award are Selolwane and Bartman.
