"With rape and other violence escalating, the country was plunging into a morass of crime," Judge Kate Pillay said during sentencing on Friday.
Following his release from prison in 2007, Sibusio Sithole, 34, had pretended to help young women only to lure them into places where he would rape, assault and rob them.
Sithole, a father of two, was handed down a sentence of 15 years in prison for raping a 17-year-old after he forced her into oral sex for which he got 10 years, and five years for attempting to rob her.
He was also sentenced to a 15 year jail term for raping a woman and an additional 10 years for forcing her to commit oral sex near the ML Sultan school.
Pillay imposed a life sentence on him for raping a woman after he kicked and hit her with his fist and robbed her.
Sithole would serve three years for the assault.
He was also sentenced to life for three rapes, which included forcing a 17-year-old girl to commit oral sex.
All sentences would run concurrently with the life term. His non-parole period was 25 years. - Sapa
