WITH its latest album, Ebumnandini, Zion gospel group Enyonini Mission is taking this genre to another level.

Though to many people Zion is not fashionable, the fact remains that Zion music is selling well and has a huge following.

Comprising 30 members, Enyonini Mission's music is Zion oriented and laced with beautiful harmonies and rich lyrics that lift the one's spirit.

Group leader Jabulane Ntshangase says: "We usually sing the way we sing in the church. That is how original the group is."

Unlike the group's previous album, which lacked production quality, the group seems to have put a lot of effort into this one.

"Our latest album is actually better than the previous one when it comes to production. We spent about six months in the studio working on the album. The end product is pleasing."

Ntshangase said

So far Ebumnandi is their best offering.

The album is spiritual and uplifting. It speaks to the heart and is a blessing.

"Our music caters for both the young and older generation. We choose songs that uplift people spiritually. Some of the songs are taken from the Bible with the aim of touching people," Ntshangase said.

"This time around the message is very clear. We say people should return to God where they will find joy and happiness as well as eternal life."

Ntshangase said Enyonini does not only focus on selling albums. They also give back to the community. He said the group had been involved in many social projects, helping the needy.

Enyonini Mission was started in 2004 by a few church members.

The group's debut album, Noma Ngihlupheka, was quickly followed by Nanku Mthombo. Other albums include Siyakudumisa,Ukumkhonza and Nonke Bazalwane.
