MAJIMBOS set up a date with Burkina Faso in the African Under-17 Championships after brushing aside Namibia in Kimberley on Saturday.

Maselaelo Seanego and Thabani Mthembu scored a goal apiece to earn the South African Under-17 side a well-deserved 2-0 win over Namibia.

South Africa are through to the next round on a 5-0 aggregate score after winning the first leg match 3-0 in Windhoek a fortnight ago. Seanego (brace) and Mthembu scored the three goals in the first leg.

"We are naturally over the moon to have qualified. We are looking beyond the 2011 African Under-17 Championships finals in Rwanda," coach Solly Luvhengo said.

"Our aim is to become the first Majimbos side to qualify for the World Under-17 Championships.

"The next official match will be against Burkina Faso on the weekend of August 20 and 21. It's too far but we can't put everything on hold because of the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

"Depending on our negotiations with Safa, we hope to have a camp prior to the 2010 Fifa World Cup and another one soon after the tournament.

"Burkina Faso are not hosting the 2010 Fifa World Cup, so they will be busy with their preparations between now and August.

"We want to be among the top four teams that will represent Africa at the World Under-17 Championships in Mexico," added Luvhengo.
