So where many would have viewed Ajax's two consecutive losses in the cup finals they have recently been involved in - first against Lamontville Golden Arrows in the MTN8 and then Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout - Selolwane reckons the fact his team even made it to the finals deserves credit.

It is in that unflappable spirit that the Urban Warriors will tackle Free State Stars in tomorrow's Nedbank Cup last-16 match at the Coetzenberg Stadium in Cape Town.

Kickoff is at 3pm.

"Don't get me wrong, it was rather disappointing to lose in that way.

"But the spirit is great and we are completely focused on this match," Selolwane said.

The SuperSport United-bound striker was on target when United trounced Wings United 5-0 to propel them into this stage, with the other goals coming from Stanton Lewis and Sameehg Doutie, but is adamant that that scoreline is by no means an indications of what is likely to happen tomorrow.

That Ajax at full cry are an awesome outfit is undisputed. Mamelodi Sundowns are probably still trying to forget how Ajax tore them apart to win the Cup in 2007, when it was known as the Absa Cup.

Foppe de Haan will be without Granwald Scott and Aiden Jennicker, in addition to Brett Evans, who has been out for some time now.

Stars, who are once again coached by Themba Sithole, want this badly for the fans, captain Duncan Lechesa said.

"This is our last chance to give our supporters and management something to smile about and be proud of.

"Our performances have not been great this season, and it is time we changed that," said Lechesa.
