Appointed by Rand Water to host its annual fleet and surplus assets sale, Park Village Auctions delivered a multi-million rand auction that far exceeded expectations.
Rand Water annually disposes of its surplus assets.
Stock comprised fleet vehicles, agricultural equipment, yellow metal, forklifts, furniture, office equipment and other miscellaneous items.
More than 350 registered bidders were in attendance, bidding was fierce despite current economic conditions and the entire inventory was sold. Fleet and yellow metal assets were particularly in demand.
Selling prices were well above par, said Bertie Saunderson of Park Village Auctions.
"The bulk of the stock was in excellent condition and bidding was brisk."
The previous Rand Water disposal auction in 2008 was also very well attended and produced excellent figures.
Given Park Village's consistent performance in this regard, Rand Water has mandated Park Village to host all their future auctions on a contractual basis.
