Luvhengo is sure U-17 will add to their 3-0 win

MAJIMBOS coach Solly Luvhengo expects the national Under-17 side to consolidate the 3-0 lead over Namibia in the second leg of the African Youth Championship qualifiers at the De Beers Stadium in Kimberley on Saturday.

MAJIMBOS coach Solly Luvhengo expects the national Under-17 side to consolidate the 3-0 lead over Namibia in the second leg of the African Youth Championship qualifiers at the De Beers Stadium in Kimberley on Saturday.

Kickoff is at 3pm.

"We scored three away goals in Windhoek and that was very good. But I was generally not happy with the way we played," said Luvhengo. "Our priority is to stamp our authority on this competition from the start, and we therefore have to be more ruthless in front of goal and avoid making too many backward passes." He would also like his charges to improve on their set-pieces.

"In countries such as Burkina Faso it will only get more difficult. But I have to say our goalkeeper (Keenan Blignaut) did very well in the last match. He put forth a solid and controlled performance."

The team:

Goalkeepers - Keenon Blignaut (Santos), Njabulo Kubheka (SuperSport), Stanton Weir (Ajax Cape Town);

Defenders - Siyabulela Mose (Sundowns), Thabo Moloi (SS United), Jino Moeketsi, (SS United), Boitumelo Xaba (Chiefs), Menzi Ngcobo (Orlando Pirates), Nkululeko Tshangane (Chiefs);

Midfielders - Nthuthuko Khumalo (Chiefs), Thabo Zungu (SS United), Dean Patricio (Balfour Alexandra), Avela Cezu (Transnet School of Excellence), Phumlani Ntshangase (Umlazi Barsenal), Maselaleo Seanego (Chiefs), Sandile Khoza (Pirates);

Strikers - Samkelo Zondi (Fubs), Lloyd Zondi (Pirates), Thabani Mthembu (Chiefs) and Siseko Manona (Excellence).
