Moshoeu might not be involved in the tournament as a player this time round, but he relishes his role as part of the McDonald's Player Escort Programme.
"The Players Escort Programme is a great initiative by MacDonald's to ensure children are involved in the World Cup," said Moshoeu, who played in the World Cup in 1998 and 2002.
A total 1408 boys and girls aged between six and 10 from all over the world have been selected to serve as player escorts in all 64 matches of the Fifa 2010 World Cup.
"This is the first World Cup on the African continent and we must all contribute to its success by going to the matches," said the former Bafana Bafana ace midfielder.
"The lucky children who have been selected will have a great opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the greatest soccer players.
"We are talking here about the likes of Steven Pienaar, Didier Drogba, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres, Kaka, Aaron Mokoena, Samuel Eto'o and Michael Essien."
Moshoeu serves as the legend ambassador of the programme, complimenting Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise, who is the ambassador.
"Teko and I are working very close. We compliment each other. Teko is in Germany with Bafana Bafana, I'm continuing with the Player Escort Programme projects."
Moshoeu, who is also a motivational speaker, said he was confident South Africa would put on a great show during the World Cup.
"World-class stadiums are there for everybody to see. It's going to be a great World Cup," said Moshoeu, who is also gradually making a name for himself in business circles.
"I own Shoes Moshoeu Holdings. We are also building houses in White River, where we work closely with the Mpumalanga government.
"In fact, we will be donating two homes to destitute families in a few weeks' time," said Moshoeu, who is in the business of selling solar products and is a proud owner of the Jejuni Wellness company.
