VEHICLES worth R11,8million, bought as pool cars for the Ulundi municipality, are standing idle because they were rejected by one of the managers.

The cars include vans and Quantum minibuses.

Sowetan learnt that a BEE company was awarded a contract to provide the municipality with 13 cars. But the company had been told to take back the cars.

The cars were allegedly rejected because senior manager Nkosenye Zulu wanted the contract to be awarded to another company he was allegedly linked to.

Zulu is an executive director of corporate and management services. - Canaan Mdletshe
