THE University of the Free State has successfully applied for a court interdict prohibiting any further student protests at its QwaQwa campus, a spokesperson said yesterday.

Mangaliso Radebe said the court order followed unrest and vandalism at the campus yesterday morning and on Monday.

"Classes at the QwaQwa campus were suspended with immediate effect and would resume on Wednesday (today) so that emotions can calm down."

Radebe said only registered students would be permitted back on the campus today.
