SHANGHAI - Lewis Hamilton's roller-coaster season continued yesterday with a spectacular drive to finish second in the Chinese Grand Prix, coming away with only a reprimand after another brush with the stewards.

The 2008 world champion came home behind fellow Briton and defending world champion Jenson Button, his new McLaren team-mate, in a race punctuated by rainstorms, accidents, two safety car periods and many pit-stops.

Hamilton is manager-less after a recent breakdown in the relationship with his father Anthony. He told reporters that he enjoyed the race.

He was criticised at a drivers' pre-race briefing on Friday for his "weaving" during the Malaysian Grand Prix but he shrugged off the whole affair. - Sapa-AFP
