Only a successful business can save Bucs

IF LOCAL soccer teams were listed on the stock exchange Kaizer Chiefs would have long turned Orlando Pirates into its subsidiary, barring any Fifa rules.

Which big company survives for more than 10 years without making good returns on its investments, the equivalent of winning major championships in soccer terms?

But Pirates is not a listed company and neither is it a well-run, successful professional soccer team. It is the property of the Iron Duke himself.

For us long-suffering, loyal Bucs supporters the jitter have turned into an unbearable depression. Our suffering is unlikely to end soon, unless a Primedia or a Supersport takes a chunk of the ownership.
