Chiefs 'not the same side that lost to United'

KAIZER Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic said though SuperSport United beat them twice in the league this season, it will be a different ball game when they meet on Sunday.

They confront each other in the last-32 stage of the Nedbank Cup at Rand Stadium. Kickoff is at 3pm.

"United are perhaps our toughest opponents to date. They were the better team when they beat us in the league, but it is not the same because we are in good shape now," said Vermezovic after a training session at Naturena yesterday.

"United do not have a lot of stars but they work more as a team. Anthony Laffor is always dangerous and Daine Klate has excellent free kicks. We will need to be careful throughout the match."

The Serb may have picked up extra insight into United after spying on them in their matches against AmaZulu in the Telkom Cup and in their African Champions League matches.

But Gavin Hunt's side has the arsenal to once again overcome Chiefs.

The Soweto Glamour Boys go into this encounter buoyed by their Knockout Cup triumph at the weekend.
