SOUTH African and German business partners have joined forces to create an electrifying atmosphere during the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

They have created the International Football Village at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Kempton Park.

The village is intended to be a platform for African hospitality, cultural exchange, international dialogue and friendship.

Situated 7km from OR Tambo International Airport, the village will be open for the duration of the World Cup from June 11 to July 11.

The village will allow soccer lovers and ordinary people who will be in the country for the World Cup to celebrate soccer in an environment true to South African hospitality.

It will be a central point at which the supporters of the beautiful game, visitors, corporate partners, clients and employees will gather to celebrate the World Cup. The village is set on 50 acres of beautiful grounds with more than 50 corporate function rooms, outdoor viewing areas, food and beverage outlets and live music venues.

All 10 World Cup match venues will also have International Parks, which will be the public fan zones including various meeting points, restaurants, bars, promotional stands and corporate hospitality suites.
