A HUMDINGER of a boxing tournament is in store for fight fans at Wembley Arena on April 23.

It will be presented by Future Boxing Promotions (FBP) boss Reggie Hilman and his associate Mxolisi Gumede.

They promised fight fans value for their money for their R100 or R50.

Topping the bill is the national junior lightweight bout between defending champion Sipho "Tsu-nami" Taliwe and Warren "The Soldier" Joubert to be shown on Blow by Blow.

But this fight could taint the cordial friendship between the camps of these two fighters. Taliwe's trainers, Benny Pailman, Cliff Martins and Peter Faver, are bosom friends with Joubert's mentor Nick Durandt.

Another fight that promises to be war is a rematch between Durandt's other charge Michael van Heerden and Stanely Ndlovu - trained Theophilus Mpakane.

The first fight between Heerden's and Mpakane last October 30 ended by stoppage in the seventh round in favour of the former for the Gauteng junior middleweight belt.

Gumede has promsised war for the heavyweight clash between Kali Kelembe and Kobus Fourie.

The female fighters Shaybonne Pattison of Randburg and Nompume-lelo Biyela of Tembisa will take the ring at 8pm.
