Warrant Officer Sello Mangena said Menyatsoe found a threatening letter under his door at a training centre at Hammanskraal. It was written in Afrikaans.
Menyatsoe was granted amnesty for shooting down AWB members Jacobus Stephanus Uys, Alwyn Wolfaardt and Nicolas Cornelius Fourie during an abortive AWB invasion of former independent homeland of Bophuthatswana in March 1999.
Police are investigating a case of intimidation.
Menyatsoe was undergoing training in Hammanskraal and left his room shortly after 7am. When he returned he found the letter under the door.
Mangena said he did not have the contents of the letter on hand, but the SABC reported that it promised Menyatsoe grief, hunger and death. - Sapa
